The Root Relationship Video Library is a resource for women who wish to cultivate an active and on-going relationship with their body.

I am borrowing Tami Lynn Kent's language of "the root" to encompass the pelvic bowl, its organs and all their related energetic qualities (the root chakra, for example).

The root is not just a physical structure, but an aspect of your soma (the body-mind), your living process of being, experiencing and expressing in the world.

Much of the content in this Video Library relates to our relationship with the physical forms of our pelvis and womb, because these spaces act as a doorway into themes that greatly affect our lives.

Our pelvis has a big relationship to our nervous system, our ability to let go, to feel safe and resilient in our bodies. It also relates to themes such as shame, sexuality, creativity & transformation, attachment and ancestry.

The body itself is an access point to more subtle qualities of experience. Through sensation we can access emotion and through the root, we can access our connection to life-force, or what some might relate to as 'spirit.'

The pelvic bowl is one of the most powerful places to start because it is a container for our essential and creative life-force.

It is the foundation of our earthly experience whilst also acting as a doorway into the energetic and spiritual aspects of our lives.

If we treat it as such, the pelvic bowl can be an interface through which the rest of our physical, emotional and spiritual selves can be tended, nourished and listened to.

The content in this video library is designed to awaken your awareness and felt-sense towards the female body and provide you with the skills and moments of contact that are required to develop a relationship with it.

In the words of Thomas Hanna, the founder of Clinical Somatics:

“The human body is not an instrument to be used, but a realm of one’s being to be experienced, explored, enriched and, thereby, educated.”

This is the philosophy that underlies the intention of the video library.

I draw from my studies in Holistic Pelvic Care©, Somatic Movement, Yoga and Counselling as well as my lived experience in recovering from pelvic trauma, to provide holistic resources for your own relationship to your root.

My blessings to you and your magical body,

Gigi
